Our Mission
Technology is a vital part of today's workplace, society, and popculture. Not only are young generations of people encorporating technology into their lives, but older generations are now taking part in this technology era. Unfortunately, we found that many older adults think technology is too complicated, depersonalizing, and something that makes them feel left behind.
We think the biggest problem is that while there are resources available for people to learn how to use technology, they are far too scattered across different sources and are not specifically geared towards learners. Our mission at Simplify is to bridge the gap between these two generations through a easy to use website. Simplify's standard is to make its users feel as if one of their own kids or grandchildren is right there explaining their favorite new gadget.
Simplify has first produced videos that will help people understand technology in a how-to format. Second, it has organized the videos in a way that is easy to access. Videos range from how to e-mail pictures from a phone to how to take a good ole selfie. This website is an ongoing project from group 15 in New Media 2020 at The University of Georgia.
